i know itachi “loved sasuke all along” and was trying to protect him, but am i supposed to forgive him? because i won’t. not after seeing how baby sasuke was shaking and begging not to be killed, how itachi spoke to him that night, and how itachi went on to make him relive it over and over again when he showed up at the hotel where naruto and jiraya were staying. nah. idc if itachi had to kill the other uchiha to save sasuke, he didn’t have to psychologically torture him or any of that other shit. if kishimoto’s intention is to bring the reader to forgive itachi, it’s not gonna work on me lol…im not about to stop hating a character who psychologically tortured his twelve year-old brother using the trauma that he himself inflicted

that dude asking “well why should there be a gay avenger?” is a perfect example: he wants his homework done for him. he wants an essay in 12-point font with one-inch margins outlining Ten Solid Reasons for the inclusion of a gay avenger and their Relevance to the Plot, but i will tell you what he deserves, which is to be told to fuck off. there should be a fucking gay avenger because there are fucking gay people alive on earth and that is IT. we’re alive in the world, and so we deserve stories. stories about people like us. it’s that simple.

the point of my original post is that i am done politely providing footnoted essays on why there should be heroic lead characters that i identify with. “rey’s a mary sue” is not a statement that deserves to be refuted with evidence, it deserves to be fucking laughed at, and i was.

i dont understand why the "did konoha really shun sasuke?" an actual topic of debate. people seem to look naruto through black and white to the point they think being shun meant being pushed away by everyone like naruto which of course sasuke wasnt yet that doesnt mean he wasnt an outcast too. konoha basically saw sasuke as a tool because he was an uchiha which made him a sharingan user, nothing more. they didnt not push him away but thats because they never even tried to come close to him, he just existed separated to fulfill their expectations and that was it.

no one gave a shit a 8 year old had watched his entire clan be murder one night, no one gave a shit that 8 year old suddenly was raising himself in the same place because he had nowhere to go and was all alone, no one gave a shit about that 8 year old to even try to check if he was okay. yet despite not caring about sasuke himself the entire village were all ready to go to watch him fight at the chunin exam just to "see" his progress as a shinobi aka just them caring about him just because of the expectations they had of him as a pawn of the state.

"but sasuke was popular at the academy" girls just liked him for the same dumb reasons any girl of their age likes boys because he was pretty and was at the top of the class, meanwhile the rest of the boys just saw him as someone to beat because of his clan's reputation. so yeah, he was popular but that didnt mean he had any actual friend or was actually liked as a person or not for the shallow idea they had of him.

of course it's true that because of his own trauma sasuke tried to keep people at distance but thats not excuse for the village to ignore a kid completely while putting him in a pedestal for what they hoped he would do for them.

I am terrified by the new visuals for the amazon lotr series. TERRIFIED I SAY. There was nothing I dreaded more than them getting the rights for anything prior to the Second Age. I mean, the visual is awesome, ok. But the fact that I first thought it was a visual of Numenor.. Until I saw the two trees (instead of one) in the distance and someone making a detailed analysis why the city would actually be Valimar, and then someone saying it could be Tirion as well.. I'm not gonna lie, I'm terrified that one of the previous reports was right in saying they have been given some rights for Silmarillion. I thought they just got full rights for the Akalabeth instead of having only the Appendices, but seems like it isn't so..
